Renovated & Extended Home on a Quiet Cul-de-Sac
A thoughtfully designed solar-passive residence delivering exceptional year-round comfort, impressive energy efficiency and a genuine commitment to sustainable living designed by the award-winning team at Light House Architecture + Science and built by an award-winning local Canberra builder, Tom Henderson.
Positioned in a peaceful cul-de-sac, privacy and convenience go hand in hand. With schools, parks, bike paths and light rail within walking distance and the CBD and ANU just minutes away this is an exceptional opportunity in one of Canberra’s most connected suburbs.
Inside, the home is flooded with natural light, complemented by a refined blend of timber and polished concrete floors. Multiple living areas offer distinct character one defined by a striking raked ceiling, the other centred around a fireplace for warmth and atmosphere while high quality double glazing throughout the home ensures year-round comfort.
Outside, established gardens frame a private, leafy outlook, enhancing the home’s sense of tranquillity and connection to nature.
Words from the owner
“It’s a friendly and supportive neighbourhood, getting together for communal celebrations.
Our family have lived in this home for 30 years, and it has many happy memories for all of us. Being in a cul-de-sac provided safety for young children and encouraged strong neighbourhood friendships. We’ve greatly enjoyed Lyneham’s unique aspects ranging from the famous Tilley’s cafe to the beautiful wetlands nature area where walking is a delight. The suburb is also close to the city centre, facilitating high end shopping and easy access to theatres and cinemas. The extension and renovation we did 10 years ago have made the home even more comfortable, particularly the double glazing on windows which eliminates traffic noise and, with our fan system, gives us a high energy efficiency rating.
We are very sad to leave…. It’s been a great family home.”
